Zelda, Digit and Tubbs
It all started when my boyfriend brought home Zelda, a tiny gray tabby female, around X-mas time. I fell so completely in love with her right from the start that I even felt bad going home for a few days over X-mas. So after I got back we decided that Zelda, who galloped around the apartment at 6am to make sure we knew she was hungry, needed a friendly other cat to keep her company. This is how Digit (lost one toe due to a rabbit snare) came into our home. He was twice the size than Zelda so I was slightly concerned that he would accidentally hurt her during play. But Zelda would have none of it. For three days she hissed and growled at him whenever he even looked at her but after he came back from being at the vet for a few hours its like nothing ever happened: she looved him. We got Tux (a polydactyls tuxedo-colored male who was found in a snow bank) a few weeks later. I was only supposed to be at the SPCA to help with the other pet but when I picked him up and he started doing his strange little purr/'arf' sound I was completely taken and he went home with me on the same day.
Getting those kittens was one of the best things that has ever happened in my life. When I was very sick from getting my wisdom teeth out, little Zelda slept on my pillow with her tail just lightly touching my cheek. The other two sleep in my laundry basket beside the bed. I grew so attached to them that I nearly cried when I went away for a week and had to leave them home with a friend. They give me their furry love every day and every day do I thank the SPCA for taking care of them until I could come along and give them the forever home they deserve.
Thank you so much for taking in animals and making sure that they get a wonderful home and taking care of them until they do.
