2011 Calendar Contest

We are now starting our 4th annual Pet Photo Contest for our 20110 Colchester SPCA Calendar so it's time to send in your pictures of your favourite pet(s) via mail to: Colchester SPCA, PO Box 914, Truro, NS, B2N 5G7 or drop them off at the shelter on 408 Industrial Ave, Truro Tues to Sat between 11- 3 (last building on the right).

We are requesting a clear copy of your picture. The only rule is that the pictures can not have any people in them, just the pet. All pets welcome. The cost is $5 per picture with the deadline for entries being April 17th. All entrants need to write their pet's name, owner's name & full mailing address with phone # on the back of each photo. We hope to get lots of holiday themes such as Halloween, Christmas, Easter, Valentines,Canada Day, and Saint Patrick's day.

The pictures will be uploaded onto our website in the gallery section, with a grouping for each month for the public to go in and vote for their favorite pet of the month. We're aiming to have the website set up for voting for the weekend of May 1st with voting open till May 15th.

The winners of each month will have the large full page picture of the month and the runners up will be thumbnail pictures alongside. All other pictures will be in the collage inside the back cover. The winners will receive a free 8 X 10 enlargement, a free copy of the calendar and bragging rites for the year plus the good feeling from donating to a well deserved cause.

The SPCA speaks for those who cannot speak for themselves. We try to help all the animals we can fit between our walls with good food, vet care, and a warm safe place to sleep till they find their own new homes.

We do not return the pictures but after the calendar printing we put the pictures in a box at the shelter so anyone can pick them up there if they choose.
