From February 1st to 14th, 2012, Global Pet Foods and Hill's Science Diet are once again sponsoring  their "Show Us Your Heart" campaign.

Make a donation to Colchester S.P.C.A. at the Truro Global Pet Foods store, and Global will add $1 to each donation. Plus, your donation will entitle you to receive free Air-Miles and a chance to win free pet food for one year!

Pet Photo Contest 2013

The annual Pet Photo Contest is now on for the 2013 SPCA Calendar and the contest & any pertinent info will be on the original Colchester SPCA site @ www.colchesterspca.ca

Change of Meeting Location

Starting this month, the location of our General Public Meeting will change back to Atlantic Superstore on the last Monday of the month at 7:30 PM. See you there.

Sport + Slinky

Sport went to the Truro SPCA on Dec. 19 and we adopted him Dec. 28th. He has fit in just like he was always with us. What a joy...and our dog Slinky loves him..they get along great. Thank you so much for all you did for us and Sport. You truly are angels. Sport will have a wonderful life with us. Enjoy this video of them on their walk today (Sat. Jan 7) Sport is already off his leash and doing great. He comes when he's called and so we are confident that he'll be ok on the walk now. Thank you SO MUCH...:)

Colchester SPCA calendar 2012

The 2012 Colchester SPCA pet photo calendar is available for sale!

We held a photo contest in the spring and 265 entries were received. Winners were chosen as a result of an online voting contest. One winner was selected to be the featured photo for each month. Five runner-up photos are featured along the margin for each month. A collage at the back of the calendar features all of the entries. These high quality calendars are available for only $10 each. All proceeds go towards operations of the Colchester SPCA animal shelter.

Last year, it cost $135,000 to operate the shelter, including wages, veterinary care, utilities, etc. These annual costs are covered through adoption fees, donations and fundraising events. The sale of calendars is one of our important fundraisers every year!

Angel Program

Wish you could help the black cat that has lived at the shelter for months? What about the quiet calico who is too shy to leave her cage? Or the little grey tabby who's turned herself bald from stress pulling?

Now you can help the "less adoptable" be adopted!

With our new Angel Program you can pay the adoption fee for a cat who is often over looked. This helps to show adopters that this cat really needs a home. Being an Angel saves 2 lives. The cat being adopt and the cat waiting to come in.

Foster Parents Needed!

Every spring the Colchester SPCA is bursting with nursing mom's and kittens of every age, size and color. Unfortunately we get in more mom's and kittens then we have Foster Homes.

This results in kittens not getting as much socialization and play time as their Shelter Parents (staff) would like.
